Fedora Linux
============

The Fedora package (``.rpm`` extension) is built and tested with
Fedora version 40. Installation on other ``.rpm`` (Red Hat) based
Linux systems may be possible, but remains untested.

The package file can be installed from the command line using::

$ sudo dnf install calypsi-6502-5.16-1.x86_64.rpm

.. note::

   Download the package file to your local file system before installation.

This installs the Calypsi C compiler tool chain in
``/usr/local/lib/calypsi-6502-5.16``, where ``5.16``
is the installed version number.

To simplify tool invocation, the installer script adds symbolic links
from ``/usr/local/bin`` to the installation directory. Ensure
``/usr/local/bin`` is in your ``PATH`` to use the latest the Calypsi tool chain.
The installer also creates a symbolic link from
``/usr/local/lib/calypsi-6502`` to the installation directory.
This allows referring to the installation without a version number.
